This stylish, completely renovated apartment offers a first-class comfort in a nice central location. The apartment is situated in one of the finest, most elegant old areas of Vienna - district Hernals, and has a quick direct connection to the heart of the city. The apartment is located in a quiet side street, about 150 meters away from Elterleinplatz (centre of the Hernals area). Public transport, supermarkets, restaurants, taxi, as well as several cafeterias are located near the apartment. Tram 43 will get you into the city center in just 10 minutes.
Hernals is the 17th district of Vienna and stretches out along the canals of the Als River west of Vienna between the Wienerwald (Vienna Forest) and the Gürtel (a main street around inner Vienna).
Hernals is 11.35 square kilometres (medium size), has a population of approximately 50,000 (about average for a district of Vienna) and access to the Als (the second river of Vienna after the Wien). Hernals has access to the most polluted and crowded areas of Vienna, as well as some nature reserves.
Sightseeing - the district has a museum, dedicated to two local heroes, the Schrammel brothers. They were great innovators of the Viennese folk song. The Heurigen taverns and vineyards where the Schrammel brothers sung their songs have almost disappeared from Hernals today (only a few are left). The brothers have their own memorial in Hernals.
Interesting place to visit is the palace of Schloss Neuwaldegg. The most interesting sight is probably the Kalvarienbergkirche Church, a Baroque church with a Calvary hill, on which pilgrims or other worshippers can follow the passion of Christ. There is an open-air pool, the Jörgerbad; a few other churches and chapels, such as the Redemptoristenkirche Church or the Dornbacher Pfarrkirche; and other minor museums.
In the destrict you will find traditional Viennese entertainment at a handful of old music halls, or catch a direct S-Bahn to Grinzing where you can make merry over local wines in the traditional taverns. In the other direction, connections to the Innere Stadt are very good.
